CLEVELAND, Ohio – Eighteen student-athletes from Eastern Michigan University's (EMU) swim and dive team have been recognized for their academic achievements by being named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) Team for the 2024-25 season. The overall announcement by the MAC included 158 women's swimming and diving student-athletes across the conference.

Eastern Michigan's contribution of 18 student-athletes placed them fifth within the conference for the number of honorees. Miami University led the list with 33 student-athletes, followed by two schools, Bowling Green and Buffalo with 21 each, and Ohio with 20.

The Academic All-MAC honor recognizes student-athletes who excel in both athletics and academics. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a GPA of at least 3.20 and be active participants in 50 percent or more of their sport's competitions.

EMU's academically recognized athletes include Olivia Clarino, Anya Ferner, Ashley George, Sophie Gatrall, Ali Kudo, Nina Larosa, Emma Littrell, Malia Maire, Cate Migliori, Tristen Mina, Lucy Noble, Katarina Pastar, Maren Romine, Kiersten Russell, Siporah Sang, Abigail Szadorski, Sydney Ulmer, and Hannah Ward. Among them, several students achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, contributing to the notable academic standings within the conference.

The MAC's report highlighted diverse academic achievements, with 26 students posting a perfect GPA, a significant portion of whom were from the Bowling Green Falcons.

These acknowledgments add to EMU's history of promoting academic success among its athletes across various disciplines.
