The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) track and field programs started their 2025 outdoor season on a high note, securing several top Mid-American Conference (MAC) ranks at three different events nationwide. The Bobcat Invitational in Texas, the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina, and the Texas Relays in Austin each hosted EMU athletes from March 27 to 29, showcasing their talents and earning personal bests.

The women's team recorded two top-three finishes and, along with the men's team, achieved 12 personal-best marks overall. Among the women, senior Saraiah Walkes from Manatee County, Florida, made a personal best of 23.53 in the 200-meter race at the Bobcat Invitational, ranking second in the MAC and 29th in the NCAA. Other notable feats included Erica King's javelin throw of 39.98 meters, placing her eighth in the program's history.

For the men, freshman Michael Hawkins set the MAC's top mark in the 400-meter hurdles at the Bobcat Invitational with a time of 54.48 and delivered the second-best MAC time in the 110-meter hurdles. Formula Thompson also shone, achieving the MAC's best long jump at 7.34 meters.

Senior Marta Moreno provided a highlight at the Raleigh Relays. Her career-best 5000-meter run clocking at 16:12.80 was the fifth best in EMU’s history. Moreover, junior Carson McCoy led the men's 800-meter race in the MAC with a personal best of 1:49.90.

At the Texas Relays, Micah Martin finished second in the high jump B final, while senior Gabe Singh logged the MAC’s top two times in the 400m hurdles, including a 51.35 that ranks seventh in EMU history. Hawkins also achieved the MAC's best 400-meter hurdle time of 54.19 there.

Looking forward, the Eagles are set to participate in the Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State and the Golden Grizzlies Invitational hosted by Oakland in early April.
