The Eastern Michigan University rowing team participated in the Doc Hosea Invitational held on Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey, on March 29. This marks the first involvement of the EMU rowing team in this event, with plans to compete at Ford Lake in upcoming home regattas.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles' 1V8+ team was the standout performer, progressing to the Grand Final. They completed their heat race with a time of 6:41.212, outpacing Temple University and subsequently qualifying for the finals. However, in the final race, the team finished in sixth place with a time of 6:53.223.

The 2V8+ team fell short of reaching the Grand Final, securing a fifth-place finish in the heat race with a time of 7:04.345. The 1V4+ team displayed improvement, finishing third in the Petite Final with a time of 8:07.421, bettering their initial heat time of 8:10.143.

"Eastern Michigan competed at the Doc Hosea Invitational for the first time in program history as the Eagles gained valuable experience on the Cooper River," the press release stated. This competition was seen as key preparation for the CAA Championships, which will also take place at the Cooper River on March 16-17. These championships will be EMU's last in the CAA as they transition to the Mid-American Conference for the 2025-26 academic year.

Complete race results are available through the event's platform. The team is set to host Michigan State University at Ford Lake on April 5, with races scheduled to commence at 10 a.m.
