The Mid-American Conference has announced its latest award recipients for lacrosse, recognizing Eastern Michigan University freshman Katheryn Wilson as the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for March 25. In a standout performance, Wilson achieved career highs in points, goals, and assists during a match against Youngstown State University on March 23 at Scicluna Field in Ypsilanti.
Wilson's contributions were pivotal in leading the Eagles to a decisive 19-6 victory. She improved her personal best by scoring six goals and providing two assists, marking her fourth hat trick of the season. Notably, she scored two goals from free-position shots and successfully converted six out of nine shots on target. Her achievements tied her for the highest goals and points by any player in the MAC this season and ranked third-highest for a single game in Eastern Michigan's program history.
The team's offensive success was evident as they matched their school record with 19 goals while conceding only six, setting a new benchmark for the lowest allowed in a MAC contest. Wilson scored consistently throughout the game, tying the school record for most goals and surpassing it for points in both indoor and outdoor home games.
This accolade marks Wilson's first recognition this year, contributing to four total honors for Eastern Michigan this season. Previously honored team members include Mackenzie Blackwell as MAC Offensive Player of the Week on March 11 and Maddie Porter as MAC Goalkeeper of the Week twice on March 4 and March 11.
Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan will face Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant on Sunday, March 30. The game will be available for live streaming on CMUChippewas.com.
