Last season, Eastern split its series with Michigan, achieving a notable 14-4 victory but later falling to a 16-8 defeat. The victory was significant as it marked Eastern's largest win over a "Power Five" team since defeating Purdue in 2013.
Under Head Coach Robbie Britt, Eastern is aiming for its second "Power Five" win after their previous home victory against Michigan. Their last road win against such opponents was against Notre Dame in 2019.
In MAC play this season, Eastern has started strong with a 6-3 record. The team's offense ranks highly nationally and within the MAC for batting average and runs per game. Senior outfielder Logan Hugo is having an outstanding season, ranking high in various categories both nationally and within the conference.
Eastern recently played Miami in their first home games of the season, winning one out of three matches. Notably, they achieved a season-high offensive performance during their final game against Miami.
Looking ahead, Eastern will continue its MAC campaign with games against Ohio Bobcats from March 28 to March 30. All matches will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
