Eastern Michigan University's lacrosse team secured a commanding 19-6 victory over Youngstown State University in their Mid-American Conference home opener. The game took place at Scicluna Field, where the Eagles tied their program record by scoring 19 goals. Freshman Katheryn Wilson led the charge with a career-high six goals and eight points.

The match began with Youngstown State taking an early lead, but Eastern Michigan quickly responded with three consecutive goals to establish a lead they maintained throughout the game. Wilson was instrumental in this early surge, scoring twice within the first quarter. The Eagles continued to build on their advantage in the second quarter, extending their lead to 11-5 by halftime.

After the break, Eastern Michigan's defense tightened further, allowing only one goal from Youngstown State in the second half. Maddie Porter contributed significantly to this defensive effort with eight saves. Meanwhile, Wilson added two more goals in the final minutes of play, securing her impressive tally for the day.

In addition to Wilson's standout performance, Emerson Henry recorded a career-high 12 draw controls and scored once. Tracy Grollman achieved her second hat trick of the season, while Stella Burke netted her first two collegiate goals.

This win improves Eastern Michigan's record against Youngstown State to 2-1 all-time and marks their second consecutive victory over them at home. The Eagles now prepare for an upcoming match against Central Michigan University on March 30.
