Eastern Michigan University senior gymnast Raisa Boris has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week for the second time this season. The announcement was made by the MAC office on Tuesday, March 18.
Boris, hailing from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and a student at Park Center, previously received this honor four times in 2024. She earned her fifth career accolade earlier this season by leading EMU to victory at the Golden Girls Classic on January 17 with a 39.075 all-around score as the team's sole all-around competitor.
On March 14, Boris secured her fifth all-around win of the season as EMU triumphed over Ball State. She achieved scores of at least 9.750 in every event for the second time this season, including notable performances with scores of 9.825 on bars and beam. Her vault score of 9.750 was the highest among EMU competitors in that event, while her beam score ranked second on the team, contributing to her top-six finishes across all four events.
Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan University will participate in the MAC Gymnastics Championships in Mount Pleasant, Michigan on Saturday, March 22, starting at 2 p.m.
