Eastern Michigan University's swim team wrapped up their 2024-25 season at the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America National Invitational Championships in Ocala, Florida. The event took place from March 13 to 15 at the F.A.S.T. Facility.
The Eagles had a total of 11 swimmers competing, achieving five personal-best times and one season-best mark during the competition.
Sophomore Nina Larosa from Bay Village, Ohio, excelled in the 50-yard breaststroke swim-off with a personal-best time of 28.61 seconds. Lucy Noble from Flagler Beach, Florida also set a personal record in the 100-yard breaststroke time trials with a time of 1:04.18, placing second to Larosa who finished first in 1:02.71.
Emma Littrell from Taylor Mill, Kentucky earned silver in the 100-yard butterfly time trial with a personal-best of 56.25 seconds. Tristen Mina from Santa Clara, California achieved a lifetime best in the 50-yard butterfly prelims with a time of 25.08 seconds.
Freshman Nehir Oz from Istanbul, Turkey completed the 1000-yard freestyle in a lifetime best of 10:15.09, finishing in 24th place.
Senior Kiersten Russell from Clinton, Michigan recorded a season best in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 25.73 seconds during both her initial swim and the swim-off.
In upcoming events, Eastern diver Megan Lupa will participate in the platform diving trials at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on March 22 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Washington. The event will be available for viewing on ESPN+.
