Eastern Michigan University's lacrosse team faced a narrow defeat against Robert Morris University in their Mid-American Conference opener, with the final score standing at 10-9. The match took place at Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. EMU initially secured a strong lead but was eventually overtaken by RMU.

The game commenced with the Eagles missing three shots before Abby Alderman scored, giving EMU an early advantage. A lightning delay interrupted the match, but once resumed, Mackenzie Blackwell's two goals helped EMU to a 4-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Katheryn Wilson also contributed to this initial success.

In the second quarter, Tracy Grollman extended EMU's lead to 5-0. However, RMU responded with a goal just before halftime, setting the score at 5-1. The third quarter saw RMU narrowing the gap further until Emerson Henry restored some breathing room for EMU with another goal.

As tensions rose in the fourth quarter, RMU managed to level the game at 8-8 before Payton Bloedow briefly reclaimed the lead for EMU. Yet, RMU equalized again and then scored decisively with only seconds left on the clock.

Despite Blackwell achieving her seventh hat trick of the season and Maddie Porter making 13 saves, it wasn't enough to secure victory for EMU. The team remains winless against RMU historically and looks forward to their next home game against Youngstown State University on March 23.
