Eastern Michigan University's gymnastics team delivered a strong performance at Sacramento State University, achieving a score of 195.175 on March 9. Alana Fisher led the team with wins in both the vault and beam events.
Fisher, hailing from Athens, Alabama, recorded her first two event wins of the season. She scored 9.875 on beam and 9.850 on vault, marking her inaugural victory in these categories. Despite Fisher's achievements, Sacramento State narrowly surpassed Eastern Michigan with a score of 195.225.
Abby Brushwood also excelled by winning the floor event with a score of 9.875, maintaining her impressive season form.
Raisa Boris was notable in the all-around category for Eastern Michigan, scoring 39.075 points with a highlight of 9.850 on beam. Kyrie Lowe also competed in all four events, accumulating 38.950 points and achieving her highest score of 9.825 on beam.
Freshmen Analiah Solorio and Keeley Kohler both matched their career-high scores of 9.800 on bars, contributing to Eastern Michigan's top bars score this season at 48.850 points.
In addition to Fisher's performance on vault, Gwendelyn Cantu contributed significantly with a score of 9.700.
On floor exercise, Brushwood secured her third win of the season by scoring above 9.800 for seven consecutive meets.
Fisher's consistent performance continued as she achieved five straight scores of at least 9.800 on beam this season after previously competing only twice in this category last year.
Eastern Michigan will conclude its regular season against Ball State during a Senior Night celebration scheduled for March 14 at home.
