The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) women's basketball team concluded its 2024-25 season with a loss against Bowling Green State University, falling 87-67. The game took place on March 8 at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti. Despite strong performances from Sisi Eleko, Olivia Smith, and Brooklyn Thrash, the Eagles could not overcome the Falcons.

Bowling Green established an early lead with a 13-1 run and maintained their advantage throughout the game. EMU managed to reduce the deficit to eight points by the end of the first quarter, but struggled to keep pace with their opponents. By halftime, Bowling Green led 48-32.

In the third quarter, Olivia Smith scored 14 points for EMU before Bowling Green extended their lead again. The final quarter saw both teams trading baskets as Bowling Green secured their victory.

Prior to the game, EMU honored five seniors: players Olivia Westphal, Mackenzie Amalia, Ashley Hassett, Kyndal Lewis, and team manager Lexie Mesuch.

Sisi Eleko finished her season with notable achievements including becoming just the 13th player in program history to score over 500 points in a season. She also averaged a double-double for the season with averages of 17.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.

Olivia Smith ended her season on a high note by extending her streak of double-digit scoring games to eight consecutive matches. Her performance against Bowling Green brought her career total to 737 points.

Brooklyn Thrash contributed significantly off the bench by making ten free throws out of twelve attempts.

Despite ending their season with a record of 2-27 overall and 1-17 in Mid-American Conference play, EMU set new records for three-point shooting attempts and makes within a single season.

Bowling Green concluded their regular season at 18-12 overall and will proceed to compete in the MAC Tournament next week.
