The Mid-American Conference (MAC) has announced its 2025 Indoor Championships Specialty Awards and All-MAC teams. The announcement includes 16 student-athletes from Eastern Michigan University, with 12 from the men's team and four from the women's team.
Formula Thompson, from St. Catherine, Jamaica, repeated as the indoor long jump champion and tied for the most points scored on the men's team with Carson McCoy from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. McCoy earned his second indoor 800m title with a time of 1:52.40. Kian Wiles from Hull, England also made it to the first team by winning the mile in 4:11.90.
Nine athletes from Eastern Michigan's men's team received second-team honors. Jake McEachern placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 17.99 meters, while Brendan Hill earned silver in the high jump with a leap of 2.08 meters.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Tajay Roberts, Bamidele Ajayi, Shelton Bass, and Gabe Singh finished second with a time of 3:18.37, earning them second-team recognition. Ajayi also placed second in the 400m dash finals with a time of 48.43 seconds.
The men's distance medley relay team consisting of Ty Dailey, Josh Flake, Jimmy Geller, and McCoy secured silver in their event with a time of 10:07.46.
On the women's side, Saraiah Walkes was named to the first team after leading her squad with 18 points and setting a meet record in the indoor 200m with a time of 23.74 seconds. She also placed second in the 60m dash.
Three women received second-team accolades: Marta Moreno for her performance in the 5000m run (16:37.91), Chloie Musta for her finish in the 800m finals (2:09.11), and Josephine Oloye for her runner-up position in the 400m finals (54.27).
Eastern Michigan will now transition to outdoor competitions at events including Texas Relays hosted by University of Texas, Bobcat Invitational & Multi hosted by Texas State University, and Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University from March 27-29.
