Eastern Michigan prepares for MAC Tournament after loss to Kent State

The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team faced a challenging game against Kent State University, ultimately losing 76-70 after overcoming a 13-point deficit. The game took place on March 7 at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center in Kent, Ohio.

Eastern Michigan's Christian Henry led his team with 18 points, six assists, five rebounds, two steals, and achieved a career-high with two blocked shots. Yusuf Jihad contributed 14 points in just 19 minutes of play, while Jalin Billingsley added 15 points and secured eight rebounds.

The Eagles initially struggled but managed to turn the game around with a significant run that gave them a halftime lead of 36-31. They extended their advantage to as much as 14 points during the second half. However, Kent State responded with a strong comeback, taking control in the final minutes to secure their victory.

Following this match, Eastern Michigan holds an overall record of 16-15 and is tied at 9-9 within the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Kent State improved its record to 21-10 overall and stands at 11-7 in conference play.

Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan is set to face Miami University on March 13 in the opening round of the MAC Tournament. The Eagles will enter this tournament as the No. 7 seed against Miami University's No.2 seed.

"With the results across the Mid-American Conference Friday, No.7 seed Eastern Michigan is scheduled to play No.2 seed Miami University Thursday, March13."
