Eastern Michigan University golfer Riley Kim has been named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Women's Golfer of the Week. The announcement was made on March 7, following her performance at the River Landing Classic in Wallace, North Carolina.
Kim, a sophomore from Aldie, Virginia, led the EMU team to a tie for second place at the event held on March 3-4. She finished fourth overall with a score of 2-over 218 (73-72-73), which tied for the 17th-best score in EMU's program history. This marked her first time shooting under 220 and earning a top-five finish. Her previous best was T-11th at the Shirley Spork Invitational in October 2023.
The team's overall score of 881 is recorded as the third-lowest in program history, while their second-place tie is their best placement since winning their own Shirley Spork Invitational in October 2021.
This accolade is Kim's first career weekly award and marks the third time an EMU player has received this honor during this season. Previously, Savannah de Bock earned it twice during the fall season.
Currently, Eastern Michigan's golf team is participating in the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Florida, with rounds scheduled for March 7 and March 8.
