Eastern Michigan hosts Bowling Green for Senior Day season finale

The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team will face Bowling Green State University in their final game of the season on March 8 at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti. The Eagles, who hold a record of 2-26 overall and 1-16 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC), will honor five members of their program with Senior Day activities before the game against the Falcons, who are 17-12 overall and 10-7 in MAC play.

The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Ryan Wooley providing play-by-play commentary and Claire Dau as an analyst. Additionally, Tom Helmer and John Motherwell will cover the game live on WEMU (89.1 FM) and the Varsity Network. Live stats will be available online, with updates shared via the team's official X account (@EMUWBB).

Senior Day celebrations will commence at 1:35 p.m., honoring student-athletes Mackenzie Amalia, Ashley Hassett, Kyndal Lewis, Olivia Westphal, and student manager Lexie Mesuch for their contributions to the program.

Bowling Green enters this matchup following an 84-61 home victory over Kent State after losing to Northern Illinois in double overtime. Four players from Bowling Green average double figures in scoring: Amy Velasco (16.1 points per game), Paige Kohler (13.4), Lexi Fleming (13.0), and Erika Porter (10.4). Porter also leads her team with 5.7 rebounds per game while Velasco contributes an average of 4.9 assists.

In their last encounter on January 4th, Bowling Green defeated Eastern Michigan with a score of 90-76 despite four Eagles scoring in double figures.
