The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team is set to compete in California this weekend. The Eagles will participate in two events: first at UC Davis with San Jose State on Friday, March 7, at 10 p.m. ET, and then at Sacramento State on Sunday, March 9, at 5 p.m. ET.

Fans can watch the meet at UC Davis through Overnght or follow live results available on the EMU gymnastics schedule page on EMUEagles.com.

Recently, the team achieved a season-high score of 195.775 on February 27, assisted by strong performances on beam and floor. Sophomore Abby Brushwood excelled with a career-high 9.900 on floor, winning the event in back-to-back meets. Senior Raisa Boris registered a season-best all-around score of 39.300, which ranks as the 19th-best mark in program history.

Senior Alana Fisher also recorded a career-high score of 9.875 on beam during the same meet.

In previous competitions, Eastern Michigan showed notable performances against Central Michigan and Western Michigan. Against Northern Illinois, Kyrie Lowe earned her first career all-around win with a score of 38.850.

Eastern Michigan was picked to finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) according to the preseason coaches' poll released January 3.

UC Davis ranks 45th nationally with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.025; their top event is floor exercise. San Jose State ranks 47th nationally with an NQS of 194.770 and excels in beam events. Sacramento State ranks 49th nationally with an NQS of 194.650 and also performs well in beam events.

Eastern finished sixth at the MAC Championships last year with a team score of 194.000.

Looking ahead, if Eastern qualifies for further competition after the MAC Championships scheduled for March 22 at Central Michigan University, they could participate in NCAA Regionals from April 2-6 at one of four locations: Salt Lake City, Seattle, Tuscaloosa, or University Park.
