Eastern Michigan women's golf secures runner-up position at River Landing Classic

Riley Kim led the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team to a second-place finish at the River Landing Classic, held in Wallace, North Carolina. The event took place on March 4 and was hosted by the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The competition was played over 54 holes on the par-72, 6,118-yard River Course at River Landing Golf Club.

The host team, UNC Wilmington Seahawks, won the tournament with a score of 14-over 878. Eastern Michigan tied for second place with Princeton University, both scoring 17-over 881. Charleston Southern University and Radford University shared fourth place with scores of 54-over 918.

Individually, Riley Kim from Aldie, Virginia finished fourth overall with a score of 2-over 218. This marked her first top-five finish and improved her previous best by four strokes. Erina Tan tied for sixth place with a score of 4-over 220, marking her first collegiate top-10 finish. Mariana Vega secured eighth place at 5-over 221, achieving her first top-10 showing as well. Angelica Holman tied for tenth with a score of 7-over 223.

Savannah de Bock and Julianna Go also participated in the event, finishing tied for sixteenth and twenty-ninth respectively.

The Eagles' total score of 881 is one of their best performances historically. It ranks as their third-lowest team score over three rounds in program history.

Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan will compete next at the Gators Invitational hosted by the University of Florida from March 7 to March 9.
