Following a remarkable week of performances, two members of the Eastern Michigan University lacrosse team have been recognized by the Mid-American Conference (MAC) for their contributions on the field. Mackenzie Blackwell was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Maddie Porter received the title of MAC Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced on March 4.

Blackwell, from North Beach, Maryland, played a key role in leading the Eagles to their first-ever three-game winning streak. She scored 11 goals during this period and reached her 100th career goal milestone. Her efforts included eight ground balls, 12 draw controls, and one caused turnover. Notably, she scored four goals against Presbyterian College and five at Gardner-Webb University before adding two more against Canisius University.

Porter, hailing from Montrose, New York, made significant contributions with 30 saves over three games. Her performance included 14 saves against Presbyterian and nine crucial saves in a victory over Canisius. For the season so far, she leads the MAC in ground balls and ranks second in save percentage.

This marks Blackwell's third time receiving offensive player honors during her tenure with EMU. Porter has now earned her second career award following last year's defensive honor.

The Eagles achieved victories over Presbyterian College (19-10), Gardner-Webb University (16-6), and Canisius University (12-10). They are set to play upcoming matches against Butler University and the University of Cincinnati.
