Eastern Michigan University's lacrosse team achieved a milestone by securing their third consecutive victory for the first time in program history. The Eagles defeated Canisius University 12-10 on March 1 at the EMU Indoor Practice Facility in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Seven different players contributed goals to this win, including Emerson Henry's first career hat trick.

The game began with Canisius taking an early lead, but Roya Khaleeli quickly equalized. Tracy Grollman and Henry then helped EMU take the lead before Canisius tied it again. By halftime, the Eagles had established a 7-4 advantage thanks to strong defensive efforts and contributions from Grollman and Henry.

Canisius fought back in the third quarter, scoring four consecutive goals to take an 8-7 lead. However, EMU responded with goals from Katheryn Wilson and Mackenzie Blackwell to regain control. In the final quarter, Caitlin Beahm scored a crucial goal that proved decisive for EMU's victory.

"Emerson Henry posted her first career hat trick as she netted three goals in the win while adding one assist for a team-high four points," according to game notes. "Mackenzie Blackwell netted two more goals to bring her season total to a team-leading 18."

Tracy Grollman also made significant contributions by scoring twice, while Roya Khaleeli added two important goals, including one in the closing seconds of the match.

The Eagles' defense was highlighted by Annika Wozney's four caused turnovers and Maddie Porter's nine saves. The team's collective effort resulted in their highest winning percentage above .500 since last year.

With this victory, Eastern Michigan has now scored 47 goals over their last three games, matching a previous record set last year.

Looking ahead, EMU will face Butler University on March 7 in Indianapolis and then travel to Cincinnati for a game against the University of Cincinnati on March 9.
