Eastern Michigan University's lacrosse team achieved a decisive 16-6 victory over Gardner-Webb University at Spangler Stadium. Mackenzie Blackwell and Katheryn Wilson led the Eagles with five and four goals, respectively. Ten players contributed to the scoring, marking a strong offensive performance for the team.

The Eagles quickly took control of the game, establishing a 3-0 lead early on. Wilson's efforts were complemented by an assist from Kyleigh Dill, while Abby Alderman scored following an assist from Wilson. Blackwell added to the lead with a goal assisted by Payton Bloedow. Despite a response from Gardner-Webb, Eastern maintained their momentum with further goals from Wilson and Blackwell.

In the second quarter, Eastern extended their lead to 8-2 by halftime. The third quarter saw both teams exchange goals before a lightning delay interrupted play. After resuming, Eastern finished strong in the fourth quarter with six consecutive goals.

Blackwell's five-goal performance marked her 27th career game with multiple goals and her 100th career goal milestone. Wilson recorded her third hat trick of the season and first career multiple-assist game.

Emerson Henry achieved her first multiple-goal game and led in draw controls alongside Blackwell. Avery Schwab secured her first season goal, which was also the game-winner.

The Eagles' defense held Gardner-Webb to six goals, tying for the second-fewest allowed in a game by EMU's defense this season.

Eastern Michigan will next face Canisius University on March 1 at their indoor facility in Ypsilanti.
