Eastern Michigan University baseball player Logan Hugo has been named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on February 25, 2025. This recognition marks the first time in Hugo's career that he has received this honor.
Hugo, a senior outfielder from Essexville, Michigan, led the Eagles' offense during a successful series against Central Arkansas from February 22 to February 24. Over three games, Hugo achieved a batting average of .538 and an impressive slugging percentage of 1.000, contributing to an OPS of 1.600. His performance included seven hits in 13 at-bats, with four hits going for extra bases—three doubles and one home run. He drove in seven runs and accumulated a total of 13 bases while maintaining a strikeout-free week.
In his standout game at the beginning of the series, Hugo went 4-for-5 at bat with three doubles and four RBIs, scoring one run. These achievements tied him for the most hits in a single game within the conference this season. In subsequent games, he continued his strong performance with a home run and two RBIs in game two and finished with two hits and one RBI in the final game.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles currently lead their conference in several offensive categories including batting average (.310), hits (70), doubles (14), home runs (11), extra-base hits (26), total bases (119), and slugging percentage (.527).
Looking ahead, Hugo and his team will face Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina for a four-game series from February 28 to March 2.
