Eastern Michigan University's baseball team concluded their series against the University of Central Arkansas Bears with a 10-9 loss in extra innings at Bear Stadium. Despite this defeat, EMU won the first two games of the series, marking their initial series win for the 2025 season.

The Eagles now hold a 2-4 record for the season, while the Bears have an identical record. Brendan Kleiman led Eastern's offense with three hits and three RBIs, including his first home run of the season.

In the game, Kleiman hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give EMU an early lead. Logan Hugo added another run with a single. The Bears narrowed EMU's lead by scoring twice in the second inning before Cooper Vance extended it again in the third.

Central Arkansas responded with six runs in the fourth inning to take an 8-4 lead. However, Eastern Michigan reduced this gap with consecutive home runs from Harrison Travis and Ty Stecko in the fifth inning.

EMU regained a one-run lead by scoring three times in the seventh inning. The Bears tied it up again on a passed ball in the eighth inning, leading to extra innings where they secured victory with an RBI single.

The Eagles' performance included tying their season highs with 15 hits and three home runs. This was noted as significant within their conference standings. Several players contributed multiple hits and RBIs throughout this high-scoring match.

Historically, Monday's game was only the third meeting between these teams, leaving Eastern Michigan ahead 2-1 overall. Looking forward, EMU will face Presbyterian College for a four-game series later this week.
