Eastern Michigan University's senior guard, Jalen Terry, has been recognized as the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. The announcement was made by the MAC on February 24, following Terry's impressive performance in recent games.
Terry, hailing from Flint, Michigan, showcased his skills with a standout week. He averaged 26 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2.5 steals, and 1 block over two games. His shooting accuracy was notable as he went 9-of-18 from three-point range.
In a remarkable game against Northern Illinois on February 22, Terry hit a decisive 35-foot buzzer-beater that secured a win for Eastern Michigan University (EMU). In addition to this highlight moment, he scored a total of 28 points in that game and contributed six rebounds.
Earlier in the week against Miami on February 18, Terry nearly achieved a double-double with his performance of 24 points and nine rebounds. He also recorded five steals and two blocks during this match.
Terry's achievements have helped EMU secure victories over both Miami and Northern Illinois. This success marks EMU's second different three-game winning streak in conference play since the 2013-14 season.
Previously recognized for his performances against Toledo and Ball State earlier in February, Terry joins fellow Eagle Da'Sean Nelson as recipients of the MAC Player of the Week award this season. Nelson has received this honor three times.
Eastern Michigan is set to host Bowling Green on Tuesday evening at their home court.
