The Eastern Michigan University baseball team secured its first series win of the 2025 season with a 14-6 victory over the University of Central Arkansas Bears. The game took place at Bear Stadium on Sunday, February 23. The Eagles improved their record to 2-3, while the Bears fell to 1-4.

Junior Ethan Davis was instrumental in the win, pitching 3.1 innings without allowing any runs and striking out four batters. "Davis earned the first win of his Division I career," noted EMUEagles.com.

Offensively, several Eagles contributed significantly. Connor Walsh tied the game with an RBI single in the second inning and ended with three RBIs for the day. Logan Hugo hit his first home run of the season in the fifth inning, giving Eastern a temporary lead before Central Arkansas responded.

Eastern's offense surged in the fifth and sixth innings, scoring six runs in each frame. Giano Zuccaro and Kevin Krill were key players during this stretch, each driving in multiple runs.

The game marked Eastern's highest-scoring performance of the season so far. "Eastern's 14 runs are its most of the season," stated EMUEagles.com.

The series win is notable as it is Eastern's earliest since sweeping Alabama State in February 2021. Sunday's victory also extended Eastern's all-time series lead against Central Arkansas to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Eastern will face Central Arkansas again on February 24 for their series finale.
