Coming off a significant performance against Toledo, Eastern Michigan University's senior guard Jalen Terry has been recognized as the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the MAC on Monday, February 17.
Jalen Terry, hailing from Flint, Michigan and with previous stints at Beecher, Oregon, and DePaul, delivered an impressive week for the Eagles. He averaged 31.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals over two games during the week.
In a game against Toledo on February 15, Terry scored a career-high of 38 points along with eight rebounds and two assists. He notably made his first twelve field goal attempts and finished with an efficient 15-of-17 from the field. This included making six out of seven three-point shots. Terry is among only four players nationally to have recorded at least 38 points and eight rebounds in this calendar year.
His outstanding performance against Toledo came after another strong showing at Ball State on February 11 where he recorded 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists. This achievement marked him as the first Eagle to post such statistics in MAC play since March 5, 2011.
This recognition marks Terry's first time receiving this honor in his career. He joins Da'Sean Nelson as Eagles who have received this award this season; Nelson has been named MAC Player of the Week three times.
Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan will travel to face Northern Illinois on Saturday, February 22 at the Convocation Center.
