Eastern Michigan University's swimming and diving team participated in the Michigan First Chance Meet, hosted by the University of Michigan at Canham Natatorium. The meet took place over the weekend of February 15-16 and was a non-scoring event.

Two divers from Eastern Michigan University achieved significant milestones during the competition. Megan Lupa and Taityn Speier both earned NCAA Zone Diving Championships cuts in the 1-meter dive category. Lupa, from Campden, Ontario, set two collegiate personal records with scores of 280.70 in the 1m dive and 306.70 in the 3m dive. Speier, hailing from Fairfax, Virginia, secured her first NCAA Zones cut with a score of 281.90 in the 1m dive.

In swimming events, Eastern Michigan's athletes delivered strong performances, particularly in the 50-yard butterfly event where five out of six participants recorded either season-best or personal-best times. Tristen Mina led this group by finishing first with a time of 25.66 seconds.

The team also excelled in other events such as the 50-yard breaststroke where Nina Larosa recorded a season-best time of 29.31 seconds to lead her teammates to three season-bests overall.

The Eagles' relay teams also performed well; notably, their medley relay team comprising Siporah Sang, Nina Larosa, Tristen Mina, and Lucy Noble finished first with a season-best time of 1:43.45.

Eastern Michigan University's swimmers and divers are now preparing for their next challenge at the MAC Swimming & Diving Championships scheduled for February 26 to March 1 at Alumni Arena Natatorium in Buffalo, New York.
