Eastern Michigan University's women's track and field team had a strong showing at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan, and the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina. The standout performance came from sprinter Saraiah Walkes, who ran two top-two times in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) for both the 200m and 400m races. Walkes achieved personal records in both events.

"Saraiah Walkes now holds the conference's best 200m (23.63) time and the second-best 400m (53.38) time," noted Eastern Michigan University.

The EMU team recorded a total of 25 personal records across both meets, alongside five program top-10 marks and four MAC-best marks.

In addition to Walkes' achievements, Josephine Oloye also made an impact by setting a personal record in the 400m with a time of 53.89 seconds, ranking fifth-best in EMU's program history.

Mariia Yelanska contributed to EMU's success with her performance in the triple jump, achieving a mark of 12.16 meters.

On the men's side at the Tiger Paw Invitational, EMU's relay team delivered an impressive performance with a MAC-best time of 3:11.69 in the 4x400m relay event. Bamidele Ajayi led his team by running season-best times in both individual sprint events he participated in.

Kian Wiles led EMU's men at the GVSU Big Meet by improving his mile run personal record to 4:01.84, maintaining his position as holding one of the best times within MAC standings.

Micah Martin stood out among female athletes at GVSU with her high jump result that placed her fourth all-time within EMU’s historical records for that event.

Next on their schedule is participation at the Silverston Invitational hosted by Michigan on February 21st as they close out their indoor regular season competition phase.
