The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) lacrosse team is set to play its first away game of the 2025 season against the University of Notre Dame on Saturday, February 15. The match will take place at the Loftus Sports Center in South Bend, Indiana, and will be streamed live on ACCNX at 3 p.m. EMU is looking for its first victory over a nationally ranked team as they face the No. 11 Fighting Irish.
Eastern Michigan currently holds a record of 0-1 this season after losing to San Diego State with a score of 15-10 on February 9. This upcoming game marks their first road match of the year, following two previous defeats in their road openers. Last year, they were defeated by then-No. 7 Notre Dame with a score of 21-6.
The Eagles have yet to win against nationally-ranked teams, standing at an all-time record of 0-3 in such matches. Among individual players, freshman Katheryn Wilson leads the NCAA in free-position shot percentage and Maddie Porter ranks highly in ground balls per game and saves per game.
Mackenzie Blackwell reached a career milestone during the opener against San Diego State by becoming the first player in EMU history to achieve 100 points. She scored four goals and provided one assist during that game.
Notre Dame enters this matchup with a record of 1-1 after suffering a loss to No. 2 Northwestern and securing a home victory over Central Michigan. They boast several players who have contributed multiple goals so far this season.
This encounter between Eastern Michigan and Notre Dame will be their second meeting overall, with Notre Dame having won last year's contest decisively.
The EMU lacrosse program continues under new head coach Maddie Dugan, who previously led Detroit Mercy to success as MAC Coach of the Year in 2024.
