Eastern Michigan University baseball players Drew Jones and Bobby Jones have been named to the Preseason All-Mid-American Conference First Team by Perfect Game. Both athletes are expected to play significant roles for the Eagles in the upcoming season.
Bobby Jones, a senior from Loveland, Ohio, had an impressive 2024 season. He led his team in several categories including ERA (6.28), WHIP (1.31), wins (five), innings pitched (86.0), and strikeouts (79). Additionally, he issued only 24 walks, ranking him second among EMU starters for fewest walks allowed. His performance placed him seventh in the conference for opposing batting average (.255), strikeouts, and walks allowed.
Drew Jones, entering his third year of college baseball from Cleveland, Ohio, posted a .265 batting average with a .730 OPS last season. He also contributed six extra-base hits and 14 RBIs. Known as a two-way player, Drew pitched 10 innings and recorded two saves for the team.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles will begin their 2025 season with a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Panthers at Centennial Park in Port Charlotte, Florida from February 14 to 16.
