Eastern Michigan University's Carson McCoy has been named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on February 11. This recognition comes after McCoy's performance at the Michigan Invitational on February 8, where he recorded a personal best in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:50.28, placing fifth overall.
This accolade marks McCoy's first career recognition and is Eastern Michigan's third MAC award this season. Previously, Lucky Fiaku was honored as the MAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, while Josephine Oloye received the MAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week earlier in December.
In addition to McCoy's achievement, Eastern Michigan holds several top conference marks. Kian Wiles leads in the mile run with a time of 4:03.26, Sam Peterson tops the 5000-meter run at 14:22.88, Fiaku leads in high jump with a height of 2.10 meters, and Formula Thompson excels in long jump with a distance of 7.52 meters.
The Eagles are set to compete next at the GVSU Big Meet hosted by Grand Valley State University on February 14 in Allendale, Michigan.
