The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) women's basketball team is set to face Georgia State University in the Mid-American Conference/Sun Belt Conference Challenge. The game will take place on Saturday, February 8, at 2 p.m. at the GSU Convocation Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The Eagles currently hold a record of 1-20, while the Panthers stand at 11-12.

This matchup marks EMU's participation in the MAC/SBC Challenge, where they have an all-time record of 1-2. Previously, they lost to Texas State and Georgia Southern but secured a win against South Alabama last year.

Key players for EMU include Brooklyn Thrash and Sisi Eleko. Thrash recently achieved her first double-double with EMU by scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against Miami on February 5. Eleko ranks second in the MAC for points per game and leads in rebounds, averaging a double-double this season.

Georgia State enters the game following an 86-50 loss to Arkansas State on February 5. Mikayla Toliver leads their team with an average of 13.2 points per game.

Historically, EMU has faced Georgia State once before, securing a victory during the Donna Murphy Classic in November 2016.

The Eagles' shooting streak remains notable as they have made at least one three-pointer in their last 124 games consecutively. They are averaging 7.2 three-pointers per game this season.

Looking ahead, after playing several away games, EMU will return home to face Ball State University on February 15 as part of a doubleheader event.
