The Mid-American Conference (MAC) has recognized the Eastern Michigan University tennis duo of Iva Daneva and Viki Hazmukova as the MAC Doubles Team of the Week. The announcement was made on January 27, following their successful performances in recent matches.

Freshmen Daneva and Hazmukova played a key role in securing victories for their team during road duals against the University of Cincinnati and the University of Dayton over the weekend. They achieved a 2-0 record, helping the Eagles secure crucial doubles points in both encounters.

In their match against Cincinnati, they clinched a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles, giving Eastern Michigan an early lead. The next day, they moved up to No. 2 doubles and repeated their success with another 6-2 win.

Throughout the season, Hazmukova has maintained a perfect record in duals with four wins in doubles play. Meanwhile, Daneva holds a 2-0 record as she did not participate last week. Hazmukova has been instrumental in clinching three out of four doubles points for her team this season, including two victories alongside Marta Komar during a doubleheader against Ferris State University on January 18.

Eastern Michigan is set to continue its campaign with upcoming duals this weekend. They will host Oakland University on Saturday, February 1 at Ypsilanti's Chippewa Club before traveling to East Lansing for a matchup against Michigan State University on Sunday, February 2.
