Eastern Michigan University's men's basketball team faced a challenging game against Davidson College, resulting in an 86-64 defeat at John M. Belk Arena on December 28. Da'Sean Nelson led the Eagles with 16 points, but the team struggled offensively from the start.

The game experienced a delay due to a fire alarm, after which Davidson took control with a 24-4 lead in the first 11 minutes and 40 seconds. By halftime, Davidson maintained a strong position with a score of 41-21. Eastern Michigan managed to narrow the gap to within 69-55 with less than seven minutes left in the game, but Davidson ultimately extended their lead significantly by the end.

In terms of statistics, Eastern shot 40.4% from the floor and 33.3% from three-point range, while Davidson had higher success rates of 53.1% overall and 50% from deep.

Several players achieved personal milestones during this matchup. Nelson recorded his eighth consecutive game scoring at least ten points for the first time in his career. Dillon Tingler made two three-pointers for the first time in his collegiate career during his second straight start. Arne Osojnik scored double digits for the thirteenth time in his career, while Jalen Terry set a season-high with six assists. Jalin Billingsley also recorded two steals for only the second time this season.

This loss moved Eastern's record to an even split of six wins and six losses for the season, while Davidson improved to ten wins against three losses.

Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan will begin its Mid-American Conference play by hosting Northern Illinois on January 4 at George Gervin GameAbove Center.
