Josh Brewer, the head coach of Eastern Michigan University's women's golf program, has announced the signing of five new student-athletes to Athletic Financial Aid Agreements. These players will join the Eagles' roster to continue their academic and athletic careers. Four of these athletes are set to start in the 2025-26 season, while Erina Tan will join for the spring 2025 season.
"We are excited to welcome a top recruiting class to Ypsilanti," Brewer stated. He emphasized the importance of building strong classes as they aim for a MAC Championship and national title. "This quartet will give us the opportunity to raise Eastern Michigan women's golf to heights now seen before."
The recruits include junior transfer Baiyok Sukterm from Thailand and freshmen Pavitida 'Amy' Raemmuang, Krittiya 'Grace' Thanintorndamrongdej from Thailand, Matilde Zocchi from Italy, and Erina Tan from Australia.
Tan brings significant experience, having been ranked No. 9 in Australia's Women's Order of Merit rankings for 2024 and holding a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) position at No. 1,048. "We are excited to have Erina join us in January," said Brewer.
Raemmuang has shown promise by capturing medalist honors at a tournament in Thailand this year and placing well in several other events. "Amy comes to us as a rising member of the Thai National program," noted Brewer.
Sukterm is currently ranked No. 1 in NAIA golf and has achieved success with multiple tournament wins during her time at Lindsey Wilson College. "Baiyok is one of the top golfers in the 2025 recruiting class," Brewer commented.
Thanintorndamrongdej is part of Thailand's National Team program with notable finishes including participation in professional events like the Thai LPGA Classic. "Grace is one of the top juniors in Thailand," Brewer remarked.
Zocchi has represented Italy internationally and performed well at European competitions such as helping her team win against Belgium at a recent championship event. "Matilde is not only one of the top junior golfers in Italy but all over Europe," said Brewer.
The current Eagles team concluded their fall schedule recently and will begin their spring season on January 27th at Gold Canyon, Arizona.
