The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team was defeated by Alabama A&M University with a score of 66-57 on November 9 at the George Gervin GameAbove Center. This loss brings the Eagles to a 0-2 record for the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 1-1.

In an evenly matched game, Alabama A&M led 16-13 after the first quarter. The Eagles managed to tie the game at halftime with a score of 28-28. However, despite their efforts, Eastern Michigan could not overcome Alabama A&M's fourth-quarter surge.

Both teams struggled with shooting accuracy; Eastern Michigan shot 34 percent from the field compared to Alabama A&M's 33 percent. The Bulldogs' advantage came from their performance at the free throw line, making 28 out of 40 attempts compared to Eastern Michigan's 16 out of 24.

Sisi Eleko recorded her first double-double of the season with 17 points and ten rebounds. Brooklyn Thrash contributed a season-high of 15 points. Olivia Westphal added nine points, continuing her streak of successful three-point shots.

Freshman Olivia DiFranco made her collegiate debut in this game, entering with only seconds remaining. Both games played by EMU this season have been decided by margins of ten points or less.

Historically, this result marks Eastern Michigan's first loss against Alabama A&M and affects their overall record against SWAC members.

Eastern Michigan will next face Michigan State University on November 11 in East Lansing. The game will be available for viewing on Big Ten Network Plus and local radio broadcasts.
