Fourteen members of the Eastern Michigan University (EMU) lacrosse team have been honored with the Academic All-Mid-American Conference award for the 2024 season. This recognition was announced by the conference office on May 30, acknowledging a total of 92 student-athletes for their academic performance.
To qualify for this accolade, athletes were required to maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.20, achieve sophomore standing or higher, and participate in at least half of their team's competitions during the season.
The EMU honorees are Abby Alderman, Amber Alderman, Caitlin Beahm, Mackenzie Blackwell, Samantha Borgert, Gina D'Alessio, Kelsea Dague, Kyleigh Dill, Tracy Grollman, Skylar Hilmer, Haley Hodak, Sydney Lawrence, Avery Schwab, and Annika Wozney.
In comparison to last year when three Eagles received this honor in their inaugural season—Grollman among them—the team has significantly increased its representation. "All told," EMU tied with Central Michigan University for having the second-most honorees this year. Kent State University led with 17 honorees while other institutions like University of Detroit Mercy and University of Akron also had double-digit recognitions.
