Eastern Michigan University has announced the addition of sophomore golfer Savannah De Bock to its women's golf team. Head Women's Golf Coach Josh Brewer shared this news on June 4, noting that he and De Bock were previously at the University of Georgia during the 2023-24 season. De Bock had been named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) All-Freshman team.
"It is an exciting day for Eastern golf," Brewer stated. "Savannah is one of the top amateurs in the world. She and her family believe in our vision, which says a lot about our program. I am thankful for her belief in me as a coach."
During her time with Georgia, De Bock was a mid-year enrollee who achieved a national ranking of No. 103. In eight tournaments, she recorded a 73.95 stroke average and secured four top-20 finishes, including fifth place at the San Diego State Classic. Her efforts earned her SEC Freshman of the Week honors on February 14.
Before joining Georgia, De Bock had an impressive record in junior golf competitions worldwide. She reached No. 35 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) and No. 21 among European Amateurs. Between 2018 and 2023, she participated in numerous events, securing eight victories and multiple top finishes.
De Bock's international experience includes representing Belgium in prestigious tournaments like the PING Junior Solheim Cup and World Junior Girls Championship. She contributed significantly to Europe's victories in these events.
Her achievements extend beyond team play; individually, she qualified for major amateur tournaments such as the Augusta National Women's Amateur and finished as runner-up at the Spanish Ladies International Amateur in 2023.
