Eastern Michigan University's track and field programs have made a significant mark on the Mid-American Conference's Academic All-MAC list for the 2024 outdoor season. A total of 23 student-athletes from EMU were recognized, with 16 women and seven men receiving honors.
The Academic All-MAC award is presented to student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in both athletics and academics. Eligibility requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 and participation in at least half of the contests for their sport.
In women's track and field, Kent State University led with 29 honorees, followed by Miami University with 21, and Bowling Green State University with 19. Eastern Michigan's women earning this recognition include Isabella Brent, Aleah Johnson, Miranda Cadwell, Esme Davies, Tijana Japundzic, Marta Moreno, Chloie Musta, Maleah Scott, Tabatha Walford, Cara Weber, Natalie Buratczuk, Alyson Davis, Elise Gregory, Maura Lane, Fleur van der Linden, Saraiah Walkes, and Safeya Woolcock.
On the men's side of track and field within the conference: The University at Buffalo topped the list with 14 athletes honored; Kent State had 13; Miami followed closely with ten. Eastern Michigan's male athletes acknowledged are Sam Peterson, Linus Vennemann Ronnie Brandal Brendan Hill Kyle Martin Brady Messer Almighty Williamson
Notably for the academic year of 2023-24 three individuals - Peterson Moreno Musta - earned awards across cross country indoor outdoor track & field seasons Additionally eleven members from women's team were recognized during indoor season while all seven male awardees also appeared on indoor list
