Eastern Michigan golfers earn Academic All-MAC honors

A total of two members from the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team have been recognized for their academic and athletic achievements. Senior Cam Kellett and sophomore Nathaniel Gray Lamont were named to the 2024 Academic All-MAC Team, as announced by the Mid-American Conference on June 3.

The Academic All-MAC honor is awarded to student-athletes who excel both in their sport and in academics. To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and participate in at least half of the contests for their sport.

The list of honorees includes representatives from several universities within the conference. From Ball State, Kash Bellar, Ali Khan, and Carter Smith received recognition. Bowling Green had six athletes honored: Thomas Bell, Luke Evans, Dylan Fitchet, Darin Hudak, Ethan Irvine, and Brandon Rattray.

Central Michigan's Jeffrey Andrus, Orlando Coons, and Arie Jackman were also acknowledged. Kent State had six players named: Cade Breitenstine, Luca Civello, Luke DelGobbo, Jordan Gilkison, Ben MacLean, and Bryce Reed.

Miami University saw Danny Fisher and Cameron Pero earn spots on the team. Northern Illinois was represented by Ben Sluzas, Zach Place, and Ian Bruchhauser.

Ohio University had seven honorees: Matthew Daulton, Jared Deville, Sam Hogan, Will Kates, Jack Neville, Jack O'Donnell, and Carson Trafford. Toledo's Barend Botha, NJ Botha (graduate), Jamie Tofte Nielsen (senior), and Palmer Yenrick (graduate) rounded out the list of distinguished athletes.
