Central Michigan University's Office of Research and Graduate Studies (ORGS) set a new record in research-related funding, increasing by 48 percent compared to previous years. The office raised $38 million during the fiscal year that ended on June 30.
This marks the third consecutive year that CMU has secured more than $25 million in grants and contracts, according to Bradley Swanson, interim vice president for research and innovation.
“These funds will significantly enhance student research, creative endeavors and educational experiences as well as increase CMU’s reputation nationally and internationally,” Swanson stated.
Among the most funded projects were:
- The College of Education and Human Services (CEHS), which brought in $15.9 million.
- The College of Science and Engineering (CSE), which secured $11.8 million.
- The College of Medicine, which received $6 million.
- The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, which obtained $797,000.
- The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, which garnered $299,000.
