Eastern Michigan University linebacker JT Killen has been named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 list, announced today. The East-West Shrine Bowl, which will be played for the 100th time in 2025, is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. It offers top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience when it airs on the NFL Network live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on January 30, 2025.

Killen joined Eastern Michigan following a successful career at Coastal Carolina where he played in 55 games and recorded 198 career tackles. His achievements include being selected to the 2024 Preseason Athlon Sports All-MAC Second Team Defense and the 2024 Preseason Phil Steele's All-MAC Third Team Defense. In addition, he was named to the 2023 HERO Sports Group of Five All-American Third Team and was a member of the 2023 Lombardi Award Preseason Watch List.

The East-West Shrine Bowl has supported Shriners Children's since its inception in 1925. This healthcare system provides care for children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate regardless of families' ability to pay. The game raises awareness and support for Shriners Children's mission.

Over its history, notable athletes such as Tom Brady, Walter Payton, Lawrence Taylor, John Elway, Gale Sayers, and Jimmy Garoppolo have participated in the game. Coaches like Don Shula, Dick Vermeil, Paul "Bear" Bryant, and Jerry Glanville have also contributed to its tradition.

As Eastern Michigan prepares for the upcoming season under Coach Chris Creighton’s leadership, there is anticipation within the team. "We know who we are," Creighton said. "There's no question about that."
