On March 22, 2024, Congressman Mike Gallagher (R-WI), the Chairman of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the CCP, announced his resignation from the House of Representatives effective April 19.

In response to this announcement, Congressman John Moolenaar, a member of the Select Committee, expressed his appreciation for Chairman Gallagher's work. Moolenaar stated, "Chairman Mike Gallagher has done a tremendous job in highlighting the numerous threats our country faces from the rising aggression of the Chinese Communist Party. Under his leadership, the Select Committee on the CCP has been genuinely bipartisan and advanced serious policies that strengthen the United States and position our nation for victory in the competition against the CCP. I wish him all the best, except during NFL games. Go Lions!"

Chairman Gallagher's efforts in addressing the challenges posed by the Chinese Communist Party have been acknowledged by his colleagues, with Moolenaar highlighting the bipartisan nature of the committee's work under his leadership.

As Congressman Gallagher prepares to step down from his role, his dedication to national security and strategic competition has left a lasting impact on the Select Committee and its mission.

We wish Chairman Mike Gallagher all the best in his future endeavors following his retirement from the House of Representatives.
