On April 26, 2023, Congressman John Moolenaar voted for legislation that would rein in President Biden and the Democrats' out-of-control spending. Earlier this year, Moolenaar introduced the Saving Taxpayers' Money and Paying America's Debt Act, which would rescind unobligated funding from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 that is still sitting unused in accounts at federal departments in Washington D.C. This legislation wasincludedin the bill the House passed today to reduce spending and avoid a debt ceiling crisis.

"Today's legislation will end Biden’s reckless spending and save taxpayer dollars. Our country’s debt requires us to look at ideas to reduce spending and choose the most important priorities. COVID funding was approved two years ago as emergency spending. Now that the emergency is over, it is just common sense to stop that spending," said Moolenaar.
