WELCOME TO THE SHEPHERD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SPOTLIGHT!
Lisa Davis (on the right) opened Salon 33 in October of 2022. Lisa has been a hairstylist for 11 years and 5 years ago opened Hello Beautiful Salon in Alma. Four years ago Lisa and her family moved to Shepherd. Logan (Lisa’s husband) joined the Shepherd Fire Department and both of their boys, Kyler and Brantley, started attending Shepherd public schools. Both Logan and Lisa grew up in Alma so joining a new community was a little scary.
About a year ago thoughts had crossed Lisa’s mind about opening a salon in Shepherd but she knew it would be hard not knowing anyone here. Things kind of just started falling into place and one evening she got a message asking if she could meet someone in town the next morning. Lisa had no clue what was going on and when she showed up the next morning she was taken to a building and asked if she would be interested in putting a salon in there. There was no hesitation.
Lisa struggled figuring out a name for the salon. Lisa’s dad, Marlin Brush, was on the Alma Fire Department for years and loved it. Marlin passed away in 2020 from MDS. Marlin’s Fire number was 33 so that is where Salon 33 with the fire emblem came from. You will also see a picture of Marlin on the desk inside of Salon 33. How beautiful is that?!
Shortly after the word got out about the opening of Salon 33, Summer Moeggenborg reached out to Lisa and decided to join her. Trisha Swales just joined their team as a stylist along with Samantha Packard as a massage therapist.
Lisa has always had a passion for her community and giving back. She has done many fundraisers out of her salon in Alma and continues that here in Shepherd. During her open house Lisa and Summer teamed up with the Shepherd Fire Department to get donations of canned food and hygiene products for the Needy Christmas.
TODAY - Friday, February 3rd they are doing haircuts for a donation to hopefully be able to pay off all the kids lunch balances at the schools.
Lisa and the team are very thankful for all the support they have been given in these short 4 months. They can’t wait to bring all of you new and exciting things and continue to support and help out the community.
Welcome Salon 33!!!
