Farwell Area High School is proud to announce that Ruby Frisch has been selected as our Daughter's of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen. This award recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. These students are selected by their teachers and peers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.
Ruby, the daughter of Andy Frisch and Heather Prout, is a high honors student involved in both dual enrollment through Mid Michigan College and CTE where she is enrolled in her second year of Welding Technology. While her post-secondary plan is still undecided, she is inspired by both the Fine Arts and the STEM fields and hopes to one day have a career in these areas.
The Fine Arts is where Ruby shines! She is part of the Farwell High School Drama Club where she has had nine leading roles and 15 minor roles over the course of six years, breaking the record for "Most Production Roles." She will be part of this Fall's upcoming production of "Dead Air" that takes place November 18-20. She is a member of Marching Band and Concert Band where she is a section leader. In addition, she is part of Melodic Fusion, Girl's Golf, Youth Action Council (YAC), and is a founding member of the LGBT: Farwell Gay Straight Alliance where she and the group help spread awareness and offer a safe place for people to be themselves. Outside of school, Ruby volunteers with food distribution through the Salvation Army and helps with community clean-up projects. Congratulations, Ruby!
