North end crews studying their streets this morning. Station 1, Station 2, Station 8
Street school is an important component of our career because we need to know the most efficient safe route to each and every scene.
Every station is equipped with a Street school bucket. Filled with a list of streets from that station’s area.
Crew members take turns reaching in the bucket and pulling out a strip labeled with the name of the street and they have to show on a map how to safely navigate to the area from that station.
It would be easy to just use GPS but these devices can fail in many different ways, so we rely on our knowledge we have learned through street school!!!!
