LANE CLOSURES AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS UPDATE

Roadclosed

City of St. Clair Shores recently issued the following announcement.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

Road: 22 Mile Road Bridge in Macomb Township

Location: 22 Mile Road Bridge over the Salt Slang Gloede Drain

Traffic: 22 Mile Road will be closed to all through traffic from Garfield Road to Hayes Road. Please follow posted detour.

Duration: September 7, 2021 – December 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Bridge replacement.

Road: Hayes Road in Warren

Location: 10 Mile Road to 11 Mile Road Service Drive (I‐696)

Traffic: Northbound traffic from 10 Mile Road and 11 Mile Road will remain closed throughout the duration of the project. Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.

Duration: September 1, 2021 – November 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: 10 Mile Road to Frazho Road: HMA milling and resurfacing, concrete pavement patching, joint repair, ADA sidewalk ramps, curb repair, and restoration. Frazho Road to 11 Mile Road: Roadway reconstruction.

Road: Garfield Road in Clinton Township

Location: 17 Mile Road to 19 Mile Road

Traffic: Traffic will remain open throughout the duration of the project with flagging operations in place to stop traffic when necessary. Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.

Duration: August 30, 2021 – November 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Mill, curb and gutter repair, concrete patching, HMA overlay, ADA sidewalk ramps, and restoration work.

Road: Mound Road in Sterling Heights

Location: Mound Road between 14-1/2 Mile and M-59

Traffic: One to two lanes of Mound Road will be closed north of 14 Mile to M-59 in each direction. Two lanes will remain open in each direction.

Duration: August 16, 2021 – December 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Temporary widening of the median in both directions to allow for two lanes of traffic for Spring 2022 construction. Municipal water and sewer utility work. Widening of the Mound Road bridges over Plumbrook Creek. Work is a part of the Innovate Mound project.

Road: Harper Avenue Bridge in Clinton Township

Location: Harper Avenue Bridge over the Clinton River Spillway

Traffic: Harper Avenue will be closed to all through traffic north of Wellington Crescent and south of Crocker Boulevard. Please follow posted detour.

Duration: August 11, 2021 – November 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Bridge rehabilitation.

Road: Dequindre Road in Warren

Location: From 10 Mile Road to Maplelane Avenue

Traffic: Traffic will remain open throughout the duration of the project. Traffic will be restricted to one lane of alternating traffic at times. Some cross street closures may be necessary. Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.

Duration: August 9, 2021 – September 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Pavement widening, mill, curb and gutter, asphalt overlay, sidewalk and ADA ramps, pavement markings, and traffic signal and restoration work.

Road: 26 Mile Road in Lenox Township

Location: I-94 to one mile west

Traffic: Traffic will remain open throughout the duration of the project with flagging operations in place to stop traffic when necessary. Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.

Duration: August 4, 2021 – August 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: HMA pavement repair, joint repair, drainage and restoration work.

Road: 25 Mile Road and Romeo Plank Road / Garfield Road in Macomb Township

Location: 25 Mile Road and Romeo Plank Road / Garfield Road Intersection

Traffic: Road closure with detour. The 25 Mile Road and Romeo Plank Road west intersection will be closed for utility relocation and road construction work. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Duration: August 2, 2021 – October 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Roundabout construction at the existing intersection. Roundabout construction, new storm sewer, curb and gutter, approaches, and restoration work.

Road: Schoenherr Road in Sterling Heights

Location: Plumbrook Drain to Clinton River Road

Traffic: Westbound 17 Mile Road will be closed to through traffic from Utica Road to Schoenherr Road. Southbound Schoenherr Road from Clinton River Road to the Plumbrook Drain, will be closed to through traffic for bridge work. Detour signs will be placed during construction operations. One lane on northbound Schoenherr Road will be open to traffic. Expect delays during construction. Seek alternate routes when possible.

Duration: April 15, 2021 – October 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Mill, base repair, asphalt overlay with four bridge rehabilitation locations.

Road: 23 Mile Road in Macomb Township

Location: West of Card Road to North Avenue

Traffic: Traffic will remain open throughout the duration of the project with flagging operations in place to stop traffic when necessary. Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.

Duration: October 19, 2020 – September 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Reconstruction of existing asphalt road to five-lane concrete road, storm sewer construction, utility relocations, signal improvements, and restoration work.

Road: Cass Avenue in Clinton Township

Location: Clinton River Road to Moravian Drive over the Clinton River

Traffic: Bridge traffic will be maintained with one lane open in each direction throughout the duration of the project. Speed limits will be reduced through the work zone.

Duration: March 8, 2021 – October 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: Bridge rehabilitation including deck patching, epoxy overlay, beam end repairs, remove railing, construct aesthetic parapet railing and widen sidewalk, concrete surface coating, guardrail, approach work and pavement markings.

UTILITY PROJECTS

Road: Mound Road in Warren

Location: Mound Road and 14 Mile Road

Traffic: Northbound and southbound left lane closures on Mound Road and eastbound right lane closure west of Mound Road to east of Van Dyke Avenue.

Duration: July 5, 2021 – September 2021 (weather permitting)

Description: The project is part of a gas main replacement by Consumer's Energy under a Department of Roads permit.
