Central Michigan University issued the following announcement on Feb. 17.
Central Michigan University has named Karl Smart associate dean of the College of Business Administration effective Feb. 10, 2020.
As associate dean, Smart will assist Dean Christopher Moberg in leadership and operation of the college.
Smart most recently served the college as interim associate dean. He also served as interim dean from September 2018, when Charles Crespy retired as dean, through July 2019, when Moberg was named dean.
Smart holds a doctorate from the University of Florida, a Master of Arts degree from Utah State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah. He also is a member of the CMU business information systems faculty.
Moberg announced the internal search for an associate dean in October 2019. Kathy Irwin, dean of libraries, chaired the 10-member search committee.
