Central Michigan University issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.
Executive Vice President and Provost Mary Schutten has named Greg Zimmerman associate dean of The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, effective Sept. 9, 2019.
Zimmerman comes to CMU from the College of Health Professions at Ferris State University, where he was department head of Ferris' clinical laboratory, respiratory care and health administration programs. His previous roles include positions with Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa; Metaldyne Corp. in Plymouth, Michigan; and General Motors Co. in Warren, Michigan.
At CMU, Zimmerman will assist Dean Tom Masterson in overseeing the leadership and operations of the college.
Zimmerman is a CMU alum, having earned his bachelor's degree in sports medicine/public health education in 1984, his Master of Science degree in health services administration in 1991, and his Doctor of Education degree in higher education leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He will fill the position held by interim Associate Dean Denise Webster
