Fundraising event

MidMichigan Medical Center - Gladwin issued the following announcement on Aug 13.

The volunteers of MidMichigan Medical Center – Gladwin hosted the 52nd Annual Doe Day golf fundraiser on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Gladwin Heights Golf Course. More than $5,600 was donated to the MidMichigan Health Foundation from the golf outing and will be used to purchase medical equipment and other items to improve patient comfort, care and services at the Medical Center in Gladwin. Over the past 52 years, volunteers have raised more than $506,000 with proceeds impacting the Medical Center.

The four-person, 18-hole scramble offered glorious weather for the 21 teams who began the day with a continental breakfast followed with 18 holes of golf, special contests, raffles, many prizes, and a buffet lunch. A highlight of the event was the return of local resident, Rosella Foor, who may hold the best attendance record for Doe Day players. She has golfed in 50 of the 52 Doe Days including the first event. Foor was honored with a gift bucket of imprinted “Doe Day Golf Outing” balls featured at recent scrambles.

The first place team honors went to Kelly Freeman, Vicky Johnstone, Ann Suriowic and Bev Zuelch; second place was given to Tabitha Florian, Rachel Harvey, Rosella Foor and Amanda Wilson; and coming in third was Dawn Stefanelli, Patty Szotko, Peggy Steven and Dayle Antonucci.
